Surprise Visit! Thursday, July 21 on Mulberry Avenue

Kraken tentacles on 1222 Mulberry Ave Muscatine Iowa

One day only!
(Thursday, July 21)

I would love to keep the location a mystery and make you hunt for me, but I’m going to just tell you the location….and then hold a contest for a cool prize!

Ok, ready?  Here’s where I am:

I’m making a surprise appearance at 1222 Mulberry Avenue. It’s the large yellow house right beside the Muscatine Art Center and Musser Museum.

I can’t wait to see the reaction from all the walkers and joggers who have no reason to suspect they’ll be confronted by a giant pink tentacled octopus:-)

Now for the contest
The other big news for today is that my River Monster T-shirts are here…and I’m giving one away!

Want to win a River Monster T-shirt?
I’ll give a free T-shirt to the first person to post a photo of me at 1222 Mulberry Avenue.   That’s it!

Just post it to my Facebook page.

You can also email it to me at MuscatineRiverMonster@gmail.com

(And I’m always happy to see the photos you post on there – contest or no contest.  I guess everyone loves seeing pictures of them-self, even giant monsters)

Ok,  Good luck and happy photo snapping!

Drive by on Mulberry and wave hello!

P.S. Have you seen my River Monster T-shirts?

The Kraken in the 4th of July Parade!

Note: I’ll be hiding out in my watery lair during the week after the 4th of July parade…but don’t worry, I will emerge again!  People on my email list will get a notice as soon as I reappear!

Howdy!

Recently I joined Muscatine for the 4th of July parade, where I appeared live and in monster in front of an excited public.  It was exhausting, but luckily Muscatine Search and Rescue let me borrow their boat.  Thanks guys!

Here’s your proof…

The Kraken Crew gathers, getting ready to feed my hungry fans on the parade route.  Thanks for catching my good side Muscatine Search and Rescue!

I begin my journey down 5th Avenue, where the audience eagerly awaits my arrival.  (Aint I modest?)  Thanks to Ethan Anderson for the photo.

Sara Thomas catches me right around the corner.  I saw her there so I decided to wave!

Rawr! I look quite menacing from so far away.  Jami Renae Garmon-Alexander, thanks for making me look so ferocious!

My crew handed out TONS of candy!  You guys eat more than I do!  Thank you Ethan for the photo

Thanks to Snapshots photography by Mindy, we end our journey in an action packed cartoony fashion.

I’d like to thank everyone for coming to see me!  So often I stay stationary, for a Kraken tires easily on land, but it was fun to go out for a leisurely stroll through the lovely streets of Muscatine.

By the way, did you take any photos of my in the parade? If so, I’d love to see them and share them with people.  You can post photos right to my Facebook or email them to me at: MuscatineRiverMonster@gmail.com

I hope you had a great weekend!

Special Thanks to:
Doug Born and Ann Brumback from Muscatine Search & Rescue

Sarah Anderson – coordinating ‘Kraken Wranger’ volunteers
Flynn Collier – sound system and epic sea monster music

The Kraken goes to a BBQ!

From Friday, July 1st to Sunday, July 3 I will be on Hy-Vee Drugtown.

It’s the 4th of July weekend! And what do you do on this favorite holiday?  Cookouts!

So this Friday, July 1st,  I’ll be hanging out at Hy-Vee Drugtown’s weekend grill-out.

While BBQ ribs sound awfully tempting, especially ones catered by the Zarda Bro’s of Kansas City,  I’ll do my best to stick with my usual diet of building and roofing materials, stray joggers, and the occasional parked car:-)

I’ll only be here for a few days (I’ve got a parade to get ready for). Come see me while you can at my fifth spot in Muscatine!

Don’t say I didn’t warn you about the stray joggers though…mmm snacks…:-)

=P

(Thanks SnapShots Photography for letting me use your photo!)
